Combining a spark of nature and the human spirit. Snack healthy and feel the difference!

Bringing together Malawi’s ideal climate, the existing knowledge of local growers, a world class processing facility and access to export markets, Malawi Mangoes not only delivers healthy products, but we change lives in our local community.

GROW – We put irrigated orchards in the hands of resourceful, community entrepreneurs to create seasonal mango varieties and ensure self-reliance.

PROCESS – We train otherwise unemployed women and youth to process fresh and dried products in a certified 10,000 m2 processing facility to springboard quality personal and business growth.

EXPORT – We build wealth for the Warm Heart of Africa through our exports.

Malawi Mangoes community support exists on five levels.

By providing technical support for planting, growing mangoes, nurturing the skills development of the community, we help income generation for all of our community growers and their families. This is some 5,000 people and over 20,000 broader village members who can take advantage of increased potable water, irrigated cultivation spaces and sustainable wood fuels.

Through training programmes and wages for our full time and seasonal work supply. Moving people from informal to formal work has resulted in over $750,000 in accumulated employee pension plans – a benefit that rarely exists for people living in rural areas.

Upskilling a growing workforce for future job growth, providing leadership training and mentorship opportunities. Creating employability for youth through internships for those with only theoretical knowledge to give practical, hands on, experience.

Expanding the economic footprint of the Salima township – we support tradespeople and construction businesses and entrepreneurial farmers who have used our root stocks to build their own nurseries and our business skills training has meant some now have their own commercial farms.

In addition, 70% of our community growers are women. In a place where child marriages still happen despite legislation making it illegal and birth rate per female is nearly 5 children, income and empowerment are paramount to girls having more decision making powers of their futures.
